Dallas Couples, Families, and Children Counseling
Couples – Relationship Counseling
Whether married or not and whether gay or straight, everyone
has relationship problems from time to time. Relationship
counseling helps overcome obstacles to intimacy. It helps
to resolve conflicts, increase communication skills, and
to enhance relationships. In relationship counseling people
learn how to communicate more effectively, how to respond
to situations rather than react, and how to negotiate differences
rather than engage in a battle.
Is the sexual and affectionate part of your relationship
missing? Would you like to recapture those times when you
and your partner experienced loving, sexual moments? Have
you told your partner that? Would you like to learn to communicate
and have acceptance and understanding as an outcome rather
than ongoing arguments? Changing your style of communicating
can lead to a more satisfying relationship.
Couples counseling is about taking a look at old problems
that wear you down or urgent situations that shake things
up from a different perspective and with the benefit of an
outside, objective viewpoint -- an advocate, if you will.
No matter where you and your significant other find yourselves
on the journey, how close you are to giving up, or how far
apart it feels like you've grown, the therapists at Enrichment
Counseling and Assessment can help. Couples counseling is
an affirmative process, meaning the providers at Enrichment
listen and are supportive of both the individual and collective
perspectives. We treat the couple as one client, rather
than two people, while also knowing that all difficult
situations are made up of multiple, valid viewpoints and
no one person should be labeled as "the problem."
Often, with our couples, we find that outside events, factors,
stressors, and challenges often feel like problems between partners
and spouses when, in reality, with some work and perspective,
we learn that the couple can actually join together and
address these things that are really "outside" of "us" rather
than "between us." We all have families at ECA,
traditional, nontraditional, and diverse; these experiences
coupled with our training makes us uniquely poised to help
you find the road back to "we".

Family Therapy
Family members often have their share of difficulties with
communication and other issues in their relationships. The
providers at Enrichment Counseling and Assessment are relationship
specialists who help people achieve more satisfying and productive
relationships. Our providers offer support and perspective
as families struggle with life's challenges while assisting
families in exploring and solving problems.
In family therapy, our providers practice early crisis intervention
and brief, focused psychotherapy to resolve problems or reduce
symptoms in the shortest time possible. They also have the
expertise and skills to work with persons where more intensive,
long-term treatment is necessary to relieve mental or emotional
conditions.
Child and Adolescent Treatment
Typical problems treated include: school refusal, anger,
compulsive behavior, low self-esteem, attention deficits
(ADD/ADHD), school deficits, conduct problems/oppositional
behavior, anxiety, depression, hyperactivity, and addictive
behaviors.
Services offered include: parent coaching, assertiveness
training, behavior rehearsal, social skills training, relaxation
training/stress reduction, cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT),
coping skills training, habit reversal, skill-based training,
and comprehensive psychological evaluations.
Enrichment Counseling and Assessment also offers a short-term
group for helping children overcome anger issues. The group
conveniently meets on evenings and Saturdays so that your
child may attend without having to miss school or other important
activities.

Combined Services for Children and Adolescents
Enrichment Counseling and Assessment offers combined services
with special package pricing to children and families. For
example, one of our psychologists can perform a psychological
evaluation for diagnosis of ADHD. In the event that the child
meets criteria for this diagnosis, then the child and/or
parents can receive counseling, life coaching, parent coaching,
or family therapy depending on the individual needs of the
child and/or family.
